All About NIFT

NIFT Was Established in the Year 1986. It was made statutory Institute in 2006 by an Act of the Indian parliament with the President of India as Visitor. Currently NIFT has 19 Campuses which are well established in different corner of India. The Most recent Campus of NIFT is in Varanasi. NIFT offers Undergraduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate or PhD Programs in the field of Design and Management. The Most known Design Programs offered by NIFT are BDES, MDES, BFTECH, MFTECH and MFM.

Admission in NIFT is based on Various Factors. NIFT Conducts All India Entrance Exam on yearly basis to evaluate the student’s performance. Exams are conducted in 2 rounds.First round is Written Exam which is a combination of Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) wherein the Second round is Situation Test for UG and Personal Interview or PI round for PG Programs.Students who qualify the First round of exam can only appear for the Second round.

UG Courses Offered by NIFT

NIFT offers Bachelor in Design Program in various field which are Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Leather Design, Knitwear Design, Fashion Communication, Textile Design and Fashion Interiors.

NIFT also Offers Bachelor in Fashion Technology (BFTECH) for Which Student have To appear only for General Ability Test (GAT) Exam and there is no second round.

NIFT BDES ELIGIBILITY  CRITERIA

1. Candidate Should have passed or is appearing in 12th from a recognized board at the time of appearing for entrance exam.
2. Candidate Should be below 24 years of age at the time of appearing for NIFT Entrance Exam

NIFT MDES ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Candidate Should have Passed or is appearing in Final semester of the undergraduate
2. There are no age limit criteria.

NIFT MFM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Candidate Should have Passed or is appearing in Final semester of the undergraduate Program from a recognized university at the time of appearing for Entrance Exam.
2. There are no age limit criteria.

NIFT BFTECH ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Candidate must have passed 12th or appearing in 12th from a recognized board at the time Of appearing for Entrance Exam. Physics and Math should be the main subject in 12th.
2. Candidate Should be below 24 years of age at the time of appearing for NIFT Entrance Exam

NIFT MFTECH ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Only Candidates Who have done their BTECH, BE or BFTECH (from NIFT only) can appear for MFTECH Program in NIFT.
2. There are no age limit criteria.

All About NID

The National Institute of Design (NID) consists of a group of autonomous public design universities in India, with the first one established in Ahmedabad in 1961. Additional NIDs are located in Kurukshetra, Gandhinagar, Vijayawada, Jorhat, Bangalore, and Bhopal. These 

institutions operate independently under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. They are recognized by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in the Ministry of Science and Technology as scientific and industrial research organizations. According to the National Institute of Design Act, 2014, these universities are classified as Institutes of National Importance.

NID BDES ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

AGE LIMIT

For General or General EWS Candidates only those who are born after 1st July 2004 and other category candidates which are OBC-NCL, SC, ST except PwD candidates born after 1st July 2001 are eligible to apply for NID 2025 Entrance Exam.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

Candidates who have cleared or appearing in 12th from any recognized board for the current Academic year can appear.

NID MDES ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

AGE LIMIT

For General or General EWS candidates only those who are born after 1st July 1993 and other category candidates Which are OBC-NCL, SC, ST except PwD candidates born after 1st July 1990 for NID 2025 Entrance Exam.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

Candidate Must have passed or appeared for all the subjects of minimum 4-year bachelor degree in any specialization by 30th June 2025.

Candidate Must have cleared all the subject of minimum 3-year bachelor degree in any specialization by August 2024.
